What is editable template and how to create a page using editable template in AEM

Editable templates are used when stakeholder need frequent changes and more flexibility in content and experience. In publishing process publishing team always have requirement of new layouts or new templates for new content while authoring the content. In content authoring process first we should understand 

What is template? - Templates are the initial structure of the resultant page which defines structure, policies and which component can be used in defined scope. Most of the templates have different designs and layouts to create different types of pages on website. 

Like template with header and footer will be used across most of pages of the website. 

Some pages require blank template with no header and footer. 

Page with template having default content for all pages created based on certain template can be part of content fragment.

1. Create a folder for the templates 

2. Select a default template type 

3. Configure the structure, content policies, initial content, and layout of the new template

4. Enable the template, then allow it for specific content trees

5. Use it to create content pages.
